To implement the spirit of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Ministry of Education’s Memorandum on Promoting Investor Education and advance Guangdong Securities Regulatory Bureau’s initiative to integrate investor education into the national education system, GF Fund has launched a new credit elective course—Innovation and High-Quality Development in Public Funds—at South China University of Technology (SCUT) during the 2025 "3·15 Investor Protection Campaign."
This marks their third collaborative credit course, designed to enhance university students’ financial literacy through a professional, systematic, and practice-oriented curriculum featuring diverse teaching methods.
Improving Teaching System, Balancing Theory and Practice to Sow Financial Literacy
Incorporating feedback from previous courses and adapting to capital market dynamics, this edition offers upgraded content, an expanded faculty roster, and enriched practical activities.
The curriculum spans wealth management concepts, financial basics, asset allocation, and investment strategies. Faculty now includes fund managers, product specialists, and wealth advisors from research and market divisions, providing industry insights and practical fund expertise.
Beyond improving teaching system, experiential formats have been broadened. Alongside retained activities like sandbox simulations, mock investing, and corporate site visits, students will conduct campus investment behavior research and create fund education materials—bridging theory with practice to ensure "comprehension, mastery, and application."
Notably, each student received a unique gift at the opening ceremony: "Seed Paper·Wealth and Luck Cards" from GF Fund’s Investor Education Center. Made of plantable seed paper, students inscribed financial aspirations before planting them. The team explained: "This symbolizes sowing seeds of sound financial literacy today to harvest prosperity tomorrow."
Building on the Legacy of Synergy, Jointly Charting the Future of Investor Education
The Central Financial Work Conference emphasized building China into a financial powerhouse and establishing a modern financial system with Chinese characteristics. Under this new context, integrating investor education into the national curricula carries increasingly profound significance. In recent years, advancing university-enterprise collaboration and deepening industry-education integration have become key priorities in GF Fund’s investor education initiatives.
In 2024, GF Fund and SCUT signed a cooperation Memorandum to advance campus investor education; co-hosted the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area " High-Quality Development, Wealth and Wisdom Create the Future" initiative with government-enterprise-university synergy; and piloted an "Illegal Fundraising Awareness Campaign" targeting key demographics with cross-sector participation. These efforts earned GF Fund’s industry-education investor program the "2024 Outstanding Investor Education Activity" top award from Guangdong Securities Regulatory Bureau.
To date, GF Fund has partnered with over ten institutions, including South China University of Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, and the University of Macau, enhancing students' financial literacy through diverse initiatives such as credit courses, specialized seminars, and flash finance competitions. Aligning with the trend of younger fund investors, GF Fund will develop Gen Z-focused financial education products, expand university and social partnerships, and deepen industry-education integration—cultivating rational investors and skilled professionals for the capital market’s high-quality development.
